About Me

I am sick of celebrity fitness advice.

As an apparent ‘hard gainer’ all I wanted was to bulk up.

Inspired by celebrity and influencer body transformations which were always impressively rapid.

I would buy their supplements and programs, fitness content is all I would consume.

After hopping from program to program, diet to diet in search of the key which would give me the ‘HoLlYwOoD pHySiQuE’,

I finally realized the harsh truth...

 

THEY WERE ALL SAYING THE SAME THING.

 

The truth is all of these body transformation diets work in the same way.

All effective training programs work for the same reason.

And the key to truly sustainable, impressive results lies in understanding this commonality.

The truth is up until this realization ‘fitness’ had ruined my life.

I wanted nothing more than to look like these fitness influencers and I didn't care what it cost me.

Going out with friends was traded for 3hr gym sessions.

Balanced meals were traded for a bodybuilder meal prep plan.

My paper round money was traded for all the supplements I could afford.

Yet even after training as hard as possible, I never came close to how I wanted to look, always felt guilty about eating flavorful food, and would yo-yo between trying to get shredded and bulking.

Worse still, after a serious overuse injury from the moronically intense training, I was out of the gym for a year, unable to type on a keyboard without pain.

I was out of shape and pretty miserable.

Before we get the violins out, this was entirely my fault.

I made the fatal error of copying elite-level people and those who were enhanced, assuming I was more advanced and their advice, more applicable.

After what felt like 6 years of mental torture it was time to sacrifice my ego and go back to training at the true level I was at… beginner.

Instead of advice from influencers with suspicious transformations, I was consuming science-based books and content from more 'boring' creators (who were telling me what I needed to hear instead of what I wanted).

At first, I felt like I needed to train more and maximize more areas, but something unexpected happened,

I began making faster progress than ever before.

Epic 1 rep max attempts were traded for full range of motion form.

2 hr + workouts were traded for intentional, shorter and more focused sessions.

FAD diets were switched for the fundamentals.

Not once did I fall into a binge phase as things were flexible enough to eat more or less what I wanted.

Better still, the concept of an influencer workout program now felt redundant and the “Grow your arms by 5 inches” YouTube videos no longer pulled me in because I knew EXACTLY what to focus on.

The truth is magazine writers and marketers make more money when you are unhappy.

Diet FADs and celebrity fitness advice should NOT be followed. It's massively unsustainable often dishonest and unnecessarily confusing.

The priorities are wrong, and adherence to the fundamentals is not valued enough.

The world would be a better place without bro science advice, BS Hollywood articles, and FAD diets being perpetuated on social media.

While I am not winning a bodybuilding show anytime soon, my 1-year natural body transformation video is a testament to the old boring fundamentals done well.
